Alright here we go with part two of the series for those interested in learning coupons. Today I will talk about learning store policies and how to stand your ground, among a couple other things.
Alright so on the smart canucks website you can find a copy of pretty much every stores coupon policy, print them out and carry them in your binder, that way if a cashier/ manager try to fight you, pull it out and show them, do NOT be afraid to hold up a line for it, simply remind the cashier first the store is getting re imbursed for the product, and if the coupon is higher than the price, remind them they CAN price adjust the coupon. I am pointing these out because a friend of mine had a horrible experience at RCSS (superstore) recently where they fought her because she would be getting the product for .49 cents. and everyone should follow her blog to check out the little deal demon you can find it under blogs I follow :)
Ok so yes print out the policies and if they still fight you then just take back your coupons and remind them are many stores out there who would love you business and you will be going there. If people in line behind you say something, just gladly say something like "I can't believe you are paying full price"
alright I will continue part two in a bit, time to make some lunch.

introduction to coupons
Ok so I have had a few people ask me for my secrets to couponing and getting a good deal, figured I would start blogging some tips and things so everyone can see it, and I'm not messaging like 10 ppl the same thing lol. So here we go with part 1
Getting Started
First thing is find yourself a good binder, zipper ones with pockets are awesome for staying organized, followed by a mini calculator ($2.49 at RCSS) and some Baseball card protector things boys toy section at WM you get about 35 of them for 8 bucks. couple of pens.
Next you can start asking neighbors for their unused coupon inserts, do some recycle walks, have a look whenever you are out shopping for new coups. best place to get a few starters are here.... www.brandsaver.ca WebsaverSave.ca Go coupons.... no even if you think you won't use some order them, you can always trade them for ones you will use. or in my case I can put together a starter kit for you. If I have enough people interested I may ask a small fee to cover some costs.
Next I would get some store member cards, or things like Airmiles, Aeroplan etc. one of the best ones is a Shopper's Optimum Card but that will be a whole new subject later.
Now start out small, it can be a lot to take in even I am still learning the ropes. When shopping through RCSS always look for pink stickers in other words 50% off items, that gets better when you realize you have a coup for it, like yesterday I got 6 things of 50% off gillette hair products and used $15 dollars worth of coups so FREE.
When shopping anywhere look for clearence items, such a deal, if you can get out without kids and or hubby's do it, take your time browse price things in your head, is it a good deal, do you need it or can it wait til it's on sale. Things like that. Ok I am going to post a link to some abbriviations we use in the coupon world so you can understand lol. so check these out so maybe my posts will be a little less confusing lol
Common Coupon Abbv.
alright everyone until next time. have fun. oh and feel free to send me a msg or comment with questions.
